He is Risen, happy Easter

Easter is a time to remember what Jesus did for us. He sacrificed himself, in our place, to reconcile us to God.

John 3:16-17 states:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.

This reconciliation was God’s plan from the beginning, to bring us back to him after the fall. Jesus death and resurrection was the culmination of that plan. He reached out to us, who could not reach out to him.

Paul writes in Romans 5:6-10:

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person - though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die - but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life.

Jesus did the work for us who could not save ourselves. All we need do is accept him.

Have a joyful Easter!
